Notes from the President
Each time I sit down to write some words for the Tidings, I realise that another month has galloped by. Now I sound like my Mother “wondering where the time has gone’’.
Last month I wrote about looking forward to Golf Week and encouraged you all to play and dine. Well you did both of those and the weather gods were certainly kind to us. My heartfelt thanks go out to all those who helped behind the scenes to make it all happen and so enjoyable for us all.
My only regret is that we were somewhat short of numbers on the Friday night to congratulate and celebrate with the winners…
It was nice to stand in for Ted, who was on a well-deserved holiday, for the Chestfield home match. It was a very enjoyable day resulting in a win at home and a good result away too. We have since received a very nice letter from the Chestfield vice – captain thanking us for our hospitality.
On a personal note, I have recently hosted my first Director’s Cup and hope that all those who attended enjoyed themselves as much as Sue and I did. Now for July, another busy golfing summer month. The club diary is full with various competitions, Captain’s Day and inter club matches. I hope you will all join in and support as many of these events as you can during such a busy time of the year both on and off the course.
