Message from the President
Hi everyone, wow what a Dinner dance!
Did we want it to end? Both Sue and I didn’t…. For those who were there I hope you enjoyed it as much. The band, Hullabaloo were so professional, encouraging us all onto the dance floor with their great music. I am sure we will have them again at some point. My congratulations go to everyone involved in putting together such a good evening. Great effort, well-done.
Please support our forthcoming social events such as the Adults’ Christmas party, Children’s Christmas party, and the New Year. The social committee work very hard to put on all these events and I am sure next year will see new events to encourage us all to join in so keep your eye on the notice board.
With the AGM and Drive in fast approaching I would like to extend all the new incoming Captains my best wishes for an enjoyable day and I am sure all members feel the same. With regard to the AGM, this year in particular, is a very important one as there are major decisions to be made regarding the sale of land. Remember this is to provide funds for our new clubhouse so members input is extremely important so please be sure come along. Literature regarding the new clubhouse is on display in the clubhouse. There are other important items also requiring members to vote, so please see the main notice board for details.
I would like to take this opportunity in thanking Bob for all his best efforts during his Captaincy in the past 12 months and likewise to wish Gary a good year, pledging my support to him and all our other incoming captains, Dave (Old Salts), Oscar (Juniors), and Maureen (Ladies). I know that I enjoyed my year as Captain in 2005 and found it very rewarding and all too short.
The weather is still continuing to be amazing for this time of the year. Today, as I am writing this message, the temperature is 18 degrees, so enjoy your golf as long as we can.
Finally a message for all past men’s Captains. You may already know that we have been designing a new Past Captains Tie. Well, they are promised for the 11th November just in time for the past Captains dinner in December so please see me for purchasing your new dashing tie.
Bye for now. John
