To all members & visitors
Following the advice given to the public by the government on Monday 16th March, the Directors of the golf club have taken the following decisions.
The advice of the government is for all persons to avoid “unnecessary” social contact and travel. High-risk groups which include persons over 70 years of age, those with underlying health issues and pregnant women should take even greater care and stay in their homes as much as possible (self-isolation ). The government have not formally closed pubs and clubs but taken the current guidance we ask our members to avoid close contact.
With the above in mind, the following have been put in place as of 17th March 2020:
- Social events at the club are cancelled until the end of May.
- Club matches are cancelled until the end of May.
- The golf course will remain open for both casual and competition golf.
- The kitchen will operate to a limited level and some days will be closed.
- The bar will remain open.
The decision is that it for members and guests to use common sense and act accordingly with regards use of communal areas like the clubhouse. To get out on the course for exercise and fresh air is a good tonic at present!
The situation will change in the coming days and weeks and further communication will be made to members.
It is essential that all usual sanitary rules are followed including hand-washing when at the club.
We hope that normal service can be resumed as soon as possible.
