Members may remember that the Directors of the Club agreed to that we install a borehole in November 2016, to help ensure we had a continuous supply of water for the course taken the prospects of ever drier summers.
The first full year of use (2017) has shown what a good idea this was. The water supply allowed the course to be maintained in an excellent condition in the dry period, and also save the club around £3500 in water bills for the year.
We therefore expect to save the outlay in the borehole in two years.
June 2018 has been exceptionally dry (rainfall of only 2mm in the month).
