About Whitstable
A pleasant seaside town on the Kent coast with good rail and road links to London, including a high-speed rail link. The town is famous for its oysters and shellfish which is celebrated by an annual Oyster festival in July.
There are good beaches in the area which given the mild climate allows traditional family seaside breaks to be enjoyed.
The town has a wide range of amenities including hotels, guest houses, public houses and places to eat. There is a working harbour with seafood restaurants. Around the town there are plenty of places of interest, Canterbury is five miles away, whilst Margate is only 16 miles distant.
The Kent countryside can be easily accessed with orchards, hop fields and varied landscapes with opportunity for walking. Whitstable also enjoys a high proportion of local shops so the High Street and surrounding roads have a good selection of shops to visit.

There is also a range of entertainment venues in the town including the Horsebridge Arts Centre which features exhibitions conference rooms and stages live events like concerts. Plays are put on regularly at the Whitstable Playhouse. There are a number of art galleys in the town that can be visited.
As well as the golf course there are other sports facilities including an indoor 10 pin bowling centre, tennis courts as well as watersport activities like windsurfing and yachting.
